iaam: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Jeffrey Miller: Focused, sincere, and ambitious.
iaam: How excited were you when you got to release your debut “RISE” EP? Which is your favorite song from the track list?
Jeffrey: I worked on the project for over a year, so to be able to finally release it was such an exciting and overwhelming feeling! I'm very proud of the music I created so it was so amazing when it finally dropped. My favorite song from the EP would be "Higher" because it's an extremely personal song that really hits home. The record means a lot to me.
iaam: What inspires you to write your own music? What do you do when you need inspiration?
Jeffrey: A lot of things inspire me to write music. My family, friends, fans, and overall everyday experiences. Each song on 'RISE' tells an honest story about me and my life. To find inspiration I like to go for walks and clear my mind. I also always love to blast my favorite records - that always gets me inspired listening to artists I look up to and the stories they tell.
iaam: Just recently, you released the visuals for your song ‘Live for the Night’! Can you tell us more about the video? Which part was the most fun to film?
Jeffrey: Filming the visuals for my single, 'Live For Night' was so much fun. In the video, I sneak out of the house and get together with a bunch of friends to go on an adventure. We go from crashing our school to throwing a pool party at the end the night. I absolute love the way this music video turned out. It captured the message of living in the moment and enjoying life exactly how I wanted it to! The most exciting scene to film was the pool scene. We all jumped in the pool and threw a huge party! It was an absolute blast!
iaam: What are the top 3 songs on your personal playlist right now?
Jeffrey: Don't Touch My Hair by Solange.
No Limit by Usher.
Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay.
iaam: If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be? Why?
Jeffrey: That's a really hard question! There are so many that come to mind but one really big one would be Justin Timberlake. He's a big idol of mine and I'm in love with music he creates. He's a musical genius.
iaam: Do you play any instruments along with singing? If so, which is your favorite to play?
Jeffrey: I play guitar and piano. My favorite would probably be guitar. I've played it longer than piano and I love to write music with it.
iaam: When did you first begin to sing? What made you want to pursue singing as a career?
Jeffrey: I've always had a love for music. Ever since I was little I dreamed of being a rock star, but not until I turned 12 was I able to gain the courage to sing in front of others. I sang at a talent show that year and that was when I knew I wanted to continue to share my voice through performing and recording music. I can't see myself pursuing a career in anything else. Music is my life.
iaam: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
Jeffrey: Without them I definitely would not be able to release this music to the world or be doing any of this. I'm so grateful that there are people out there supporting me. Their love and positivity keeps me going.
iaam: What are your favorite hobbies?
Jeffrey: I love to ski, play soccer, and draw.
iaam: If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Jeffrey: If I could have any super power it would definitely be to fly!
iaam: What is your favorite movie?
Jeffrey: The Breakfast Club
iaam: What advice do you have for aspiring singers?
Jeffrey: Believe in yourself! I think that's the biggest thing. You won't get anywhere you want to be if you let your doubts get a hold of you. Embrace your gift, work on your craft and give it your all.
